  $ads={1}The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a Student Services Advisor 1 for the Master of Science in Global Medicine program at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. The individual should have student advisement experience and strong communication skills. The applicant should also be dependable, empathetic, and detail-oriented.

Employment involves (1) counseling and/or providing current & prospective graduate students with a range of services covering admissions, academic counseling and advisement, registration, and student programming; (2) monitoring and tracking student progress and records (with a focus on admissions and enrollment), inputting data, and generating reports utilizing student databases; (3) coordinating and participating in information sessions, recruitment, orientation, Commencement, and other student-oriented events; (4) research and outreach to student organizations and advisors; (5) working with a team to evaluate and support the admission of new students to the Global Medicine program (6) advising student groups and organizations; (7) assisting in the preparation or update of bulletins, newsletters, handbooks, guides, fact sheets, brochures and digital marketing materials (9) staying current on a wide range of university policies, school-wide policies, and global educational trends affecting graduate students, accreditation, and special programs.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities, superb critical thinking skills, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Should have experience working with educational technology and a willingness to adopt new technologies as needed. At least 2 years of work experience is required. Experience in student advisement and counseling is required. Master’s degree is preferred.

The hourly rate range for this position is $28.87 - $33.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
