Compensation

Salary Range: $95,385 – $141,539 (Grade C – 657 Hay points)

Responsibilities

The Director, Maintenance Picks and Personnel position is accountable for directing all activities for the Maintenance, Support and Engineering Division related to hourly and supervisory picks. This position is responsible for assigning hourly and supervisory personnel throughout the Buses Maintenance facilities. Attends quarterly Hiring Plan meetings to represent the Maintenance Workforce in the Maintenance, Support and Engineering Division and Depots. Responsible for reviewing the performance of manpower analysis and workforce reports to determine the correct number of incumbents needed to fulfill vacancies for the forthcoming year. Manages all evaluations for Maintenance, Support and Engineering Division and provide final approvals. Manages the probationary process for new hires and promotions in Maintenance. Plan, schedule and coordinate mandatory training for Maintenance, Support and Engineering Division hourly and supervisory employees. Direct & manage the preparation of the general pick for the Buses maintenance employees. Manage maintenance/shop performance and defining and maintaining increased levels of productivity.

Education and Experience

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Economics or a satisfactory equivalent and eight (8) years of full-time related professional experience, and at least four (4) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative experience preferred

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of NYCT & MTA Bus policies and procedures related to Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Availability, Civil Service, Picks & Seniority and Union Contracts.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Bus Maintenance Operations and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
