Associate Underwriter [United States]


 
We are a managing general agent and surplus lines broker that helps independent insurance brokers place hard to insure businesses and homes. We are seeking a full-time Underwriting and Brokerage assistant for our fast-growing team! The daily activity consists of assisting with brokerage placements, interacting and connecting with our retail insurance partners, rating & preparing quotes, and working tightly with our team in China to ensure the quality of processing. We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic individual with strong interpersonal skills and an analytical mind that wants to be a part of something BIG! Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Processing of quotes.
  • Assisting with Brokerage Placements.
  • Assisting with the Contract Underwriting team.
  • Pre-rating and draft/select correct policy language on insurance contracts.
  • Documentation management.
  • Interact with our team in China to ensure the quality of processing.
  • Interact with our retail partners and insurance carriers and markets.

Qualifications/Skill sets sought:
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Technical competence.
  • High school diploma.
  • Insurance-related experience or insurance experience from related industries is required.
  • A college degree is desired but is not mandatory.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Quick learner.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Is driven to continually grow and improve their skills and values feedback and coaching.
  • Enjoys working with others in a dynamic team environment.
  • PRIOR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
